Financial Analyst

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Financial Analyst to turn complex data into actionable insights that support risk‑focused decision‑making. The role will work closely with finance and business partners to deliver accurate analysis, support month‑end close, and drive forecasting and budgeting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver financial analysis, planning and reporting that translate data into clear business insights.
• Support month‑end close by reviewing results, validating data, preparing variance analysis and explaining material differences.
• Prepare and maintain forecasts, annual budgets and long‑term financial plans using historical trends and stakeholder inputs.
• Analyze business performance, identify key drivers, risks and opportunities, and communicate findings to senior leaders.
• Maintain data quality across large, complex datasets and reconcile any anomalies.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, accounting or a related analytical finance function.
• Strong finance and accounting foundation with the ability to interpret results and assess risks.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, able to work independently or collaboratively under tight deadlines.
• Hands‑on experience with artificial intelligence concepts and tools, with a focus on responsible AI use.

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookup functions, data validation, financial modeling).
• Experience handling large datasets while ensuring consistency and control.
• Familiarity with financial systems, ERP platforms, planning applications or reporting tools.
• Knowledge of business intelligence tools (preferred).
• Practical understanding of AI tools for workflow automation.
