Finance SOX Testing Analyst

About the role

Sysco is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical SOX Tester to support its Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program. The role tests internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), identifies control deficiencies and supports remediation efforts together with process owners and audit teams. It is a hybrid position based in Ultra Park II, Lagunilla (Heredia), with on-site presence only when necessary.

Key responsibilities

• Execute testing of key SOX controls according to established testing plans and timelines.
• Document control testing procedures and results clearly and concisely, following internal documentation standards.
• Identify and report control deficiencies with supporting evidence.
• Work with process owners to understand controls and help remediate deficiencies.
• Assist in evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.
• Collaborate with external auditors, internal audit teams and control owners during walkthroughs and testing.
• Maintain accurate, organized documentation and monitor remediation plans and retesting.
• Stay up to date on SOX regulations and internal control best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in SOX testing, internal audit or external audit.
• Excellent English communication skills (B2+ or higher) and ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Only candidates with Costa Rican nationality or valid immigration status will be considered; relocation is not available.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (Section 404), the COSO framework and internal control principles.
• Experience with audit tools such as Workiva, AuditBoard or Archer is preferred.
• CPA, CIA or CISA certification (or in progress) is a plus.
