Distributor Governance & Alliance Lead

About the role

The Distributor Governance & Alliance Lead is responsible for designing, implementing and continuously improving the Distributor Management Framework for AstraZeneca in the Central America region. This role ensures that distributor operations align with AstraZeneca’s compliance, commercial discipline and execution standards while managing risk and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a risk‑based distributor segmentation model to prioritize governance activities and resource allocation.
• Establish robust governance mechanisms, including review forums, action tracking, monitoring routines, accountability structures and escalation pathways.
• Align distributor operating models, ways of working and governance processes with AstraZeneca requirements for compliance, documentation, approvals and execution standards.
• Partner with Legal, Procurement, Compliance and business teams to strengthen distributor contracts and governance requirements.
• Drive periodic reassessment of distributor performance, risk exposure and adherence to standards, ensuring follow‑up actions are implemented.
• Enhance traceability and control over distributor activities such as documentation, approvals, delivery support, returns and execution records.
• Monitor adherence to AstraZeneca policies and contractual obligations, identify deviations and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support commercial governance over discounts, rebates, inventory risk and approval discipline in partnership with Commercial and Supply Chain teams.
• Develop monitoring tools, dashboards and reporting routines to improve visibility over distributor stock levels and operational risk signals.
• Act as primary business contact for selected third‑party partners supporting commercial execution and outsourced initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in distributor governance, risk management and commercial oversight.
• Strong understanding of compliance, contractual and operational standards in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Legal, Procurement, Compliance, Commercial and Supply Chain teams.
• Experience developing and maintaining governance frameworks, monitoring tools and performance dashboards.
