Digitalization Technician – Industrial IoT & Data Integration

About the role

The Digitalization Technician will deploy, sustain and optimise digital systems across manufacturing at Heraeus Medevio. You will integrate industrial devices, configure data acquisition, and support MES interfaces and dashboards in a regulated medical‑device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs and edge gateways for automated data collection using OPC UA/MQTT.
• Install and sustain industrial IoT devices and edge gateways across production areas, standardising deployments and labelling.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial/IT networks (VLANs, switch ports, Wi‑Fi, firewall requests) in line with IT/OT standards.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines (SQL queries, scripts, ETL) and validate data quality from shop floor to dashboards/MES.
• Create and improve dashboards (Power BI or equivalent) and KPI definitions with stakeholders, ensuring performance and governance.
• Support MES deployment activities, including master data validation, equipment integration and hyper‑care execution.
• Own documentation such as network diagrams, data flows and configuration baselines, and support validation packages (IQ/OQ/PQ).

Required profile

• Technical diploma or associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation or a related field.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis abilities.
• Experience with industrial automation (PLC/HMI, sensors, signals) and networking basics (TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi‑Fi, industrial switches).
• Knowledge of regulated environments (ISO 13485, data integrity) and OT cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Intermediate English communication skills.
