About the role

World Wide Technology is seeking a hands‑on Database Migration Leader to drive the migration of on‑premises databases to cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure). You will design migration strategies, lead execution end‑to‑end, and stay close to technical details such as runbooks, cutover plans, and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

Own the end‑to‑end migration strategy for SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL to cloud‑native equivalents on AWS/Azure.
Lead technical assessment: inventory databases, map dependencies, size targets, and identify blockers.
Implement migration tooling (AWS DMS/SCT, Azure Database Migration Service, CDC, backup/restore) and design cutover/rollback plans.
Guide a team of engineers/DBAs through migration waves, providing hands‑on support for high‑risk migrations.
Build repeatable runbooks, automation scripts, and migration playbooks to standardize the process.
Coordinate cutover windows with application owners and stakeholders, communicating status and risks.
Establish monitoring, backup, DR, and security/compliance controls for migrated databases.

Required profile

7+ years of database administration or engineering experience with production‑scale relational databases.
3+ years leading or heavily contributing to on‑premises‑to‑cloud database migration projects.
Strong communication skills, able to present plans and risks to technical and business audiences.

Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep
