Data Scientist (Multiple Levels) – Remote

About the role

Mastercard Advisors is expanding its Performance Analytics team across Latin America and is looking for Data Scientists at several seniority levels. The positions are fully remote and part of a temporary professional‑services engagement that runs until January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop machine‑learning models, both supervised (probability/propensity, classification, scoring) and unsupervised (segmentation, clustering).
• Analyze large datasets and translate model outcomes into actionable business recommendations for banking, payments, retail, and restaurant clients.
• Apply descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to real‑world client problems.
• Build trusted relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders such as Product and Business Development teams.
• Prepare and deliver impactful data‑storytelling presentations.
• Contribute to the firm’s intellectual capital and promote a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Required profile

• University degree with proven experience in data science and machine learning.
• 1‑5 years of experience depending on the level (consultant or associate managing consultant).
• Advanced English (B2‑C1) and strong communication skills.
• Experience managing clients, internal stakeholders, or project teams.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Python or R for modeling (e.g., scikit‑learn, statsmodels).
• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Feature engineering, model validation, and performance metrics such as AUC and lift.
• Data‑visualisation tools: Tableau, Power BI.
• Big‑data frameworks: Hadoop, Impala, Hive, PySpark.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
