Cost Accountant I

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a Cost Accountant I to join its Finance team. The role focuses on generating cost quotes for custom manufactured media and works closely with Operations, Purchasing, and Product Management to ensure accurate pricing and cost scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cost quotes for all custom manufactured material (LIQ & DPM, AGT).
• Update and modify common cost matrices used for product pricing.
• Review items for inclusion in matrices based on time and accuracy payback.
• Collaborate with cost accounting on cost and routing hour issues.
• Work with purchasing to ensure up‑to‑date costing information.
• Partner with product management and other groups to create “what‑if” cost scenarios for new customers.
• Align cost structure between operations and division stakeholders.
• Execute special projects as assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Medium to advanced Excel skills with experience enhancing models and templates.
• Technical high school degree or college bachelor’s degree related to the position.
• At least 4 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in cost accounting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English (B2 level).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑functional environment.
