Buyer Planner IV

About the role

The Buyer Planner IV joins Abbott’s Structural Heart Division in Alajuela, supporting the production of innovative cardiac devices. You will manage material procurement and production planning for high‑complexity product lines, ensuring supply continuity and optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule deliveries to align inventories with production schedules.
• Create and release purchase orders (POs) based on MRP, requisitions and STOs, confirming delivery dates.
• Monitor PO and STO deliveries, negotiate ETAs, and resolve supply shortages.
• Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to address excess, obsolete, or expiring stock.
• Lead new‑product introductions, meeting launch dates and inventory targets.
• Support cost‑reduction and efficiency projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, STEM or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a materials or procurement environment.
• Proven ability to work with MRP systems and manage supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
