Biological Scientist – Microbiology (Remote, $70-$90/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Biological Scientist specialized in Microbiology to support AI‑driven projects. The contractor will apply microbiological expertise to generate high‑quality data that improves model accuracy while working independently in a fully digital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze development, morphology, and behavior of microscopic organisms such as bacteria, fungi, and algae.
• Support medical microbiology studies by examining relationships between microorganisms and disease.
• Assess effects of antibiotics and other agents on microbial populations and translate findings for AI training.
• Document experimental procedures and results with clarity for integration into AI datasets.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure scientific rigor and data integrity.
• Provide written and verbal expertise on microbiological phenomena for computational contexts.
• Apply rubrics and evaluation criteria to assess data quality for AI workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of bacterial, fungal, and algal systems.
• Proven experience investigating microbial structure and physiology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, digital‑first setting.
• High attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy.
