Accounts Payable Representative

About the role

Huntsman is seeking an Accounts Payable Representative for its Building Solutions (HBS) division in Costa Rica, reporting to the Accounting Manager. The role covers the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and AP transactions, resolution of invoice and purchasing exceptions, preparation of payment information, vendor account reconciliation and AP controls. It works closely with Procurement, Operations, Accounting, Treasury, internal partners and external suppliers, and uses SAP Business One for the HBS US and Canada businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and non-PO supplier invoices in SAP Business One
• Review purchase orders and goods receipts and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Research and resolve invoice exceptions with Procurement, Operations, Receiving, Accounting and suppliers
• Process invoices with partial or multiple goods receipts, intercompany invoices and approved vendor credit memos
• Verify invoice information, payment terms and supplier details before payment
• Conduct duplicate-invoice reviews and prepare payment runs, proposals and manual payment data for Treasury
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding differences
• Maintain supporting documentation in SharePoint and support audits and control testing

Required profile

• Unrestricted right to work in Costa Rica
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field and 1+ year of relevant experience, or 3+ years of AP/Accounting experience in lieu of a degree
• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting or financial transaction processing
• Office-based work in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with possible extra days

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• English at C1 level or higher, with strong written and verbal communication
• Understanding of accounts payable and procure-to-pay processes
• Preferred: SAP Business One or another ERP/AP system, AP controls, reconciliations, audit support, and shared-services experience
