Accountant – Tax & Compliance

About the role

Bill Gosling Outsourcing is seeking a motivated Accountant specialized in tax and compliance to join its global finance team. The role focuses on maintaining accurate trial balances, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance for both operational and trust entities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Oversee trust accounting and ensure all cash transactions are properly recorded.
• Perform bank reconciliations for general and subsidiary accounts.
• Prepare special financial reports and support ad‑hoc projects.
• Post adjusting journal entries to correct errors.
• Assist financial analysts with revenue and expense trend analysis.
• Reconcile accounts receivable, payable, retainage, and fixed‑asset depreciation.
• Ensure confidentiality of financial information and compliance with legal requirements.
• Support external and client audit preparation.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience with Costa Rica tax regulations and Procomer (Free Trade Zone) processes.
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Experience in account reconciliation and financial analysis.
• Previous exposure to the collection or financial industry is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations.
• Understanding of tax compliance requirements.
