Substation Electrical Engineer

About the role

Ulteig is looking for a Substation Electrical Engineer to support renewable and utility power projects. The role involves developing, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of substation design documentation in line with engineering best practices and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and review utility substation drawings such as general arrangements, elevations, cable and conduit plans, grounding plans, and AC/DC schematics.
• Perform engineering calculations and AC/DC substation studies.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables, including protective relays, panel arrangements, and wiring diagrams.
• Create physical design deliverables like yard layout, grounding, lightning protection, and auxiliary power systems.
• Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials for procurement.
• Conduct quality reviews of design packages and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, or Maintenance Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience, including electrical design work.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Experience with substation protection and control schemes is a plus.
