Fire Alarm Engineer I

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer I to support both pre‑sales and post‑sales engineering activities for fire alarm projects. You will work closely with Sales and Engineering teams to deliver technical solutions that meet client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in Request for Proposals by preparing take‑offs, bill of materials, and pricing.
• Create pre‑design, shop, submittal, and As‑Built drawings (Spots & Dots) after site surveys.
• Develop post‑sales design drawings and complete engineering packages.
• Provide technical support for medium and high‑complexity projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to ensure project deadlines are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Business‑level English (B2 or higher).
• Positive attitude, ability to meet deadlines, and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to learn fire‑alarm system design codes and equipment.
• 0‑2 years of engineering‑related experience (preferred).

Required skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of fire‑alarm and security systems (access control, video, intrusion, building automation)
• Understanding of low‑voltage electrical schematics and diagrams
