Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Grades 6-12)

About the role

Country Day School, part of the Nord Anglia family, is seeking an enthusiastic Secondary Mathematics Teacher to deliver engaging, high‑quality math instruction to middle and high school students in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver clear, engaging lessons for subjects such as Geometry, Algebra I & II, AP Mathematics and elective courses.
• Assess student progress using varied formative and summative tools and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teams and house colleagues to design coherent, standards‑aligned learning experiences.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages interaction, curiosity and academic growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with a valid teaching certificate/license in Secondary Mathematics.
• At least two years of teaching experience in middle or high school (preferred).
• Excellent command of English; native speaker preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with the U.S. K‑12 curriculum and Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
