Transportation Specialist

About the role

Huntsman is looking for a Transportation Specialist to join the Polyurethanes Division in Costa Rica. Reporting to the Logistics Shipping Supervisor, you will manage daily bulk and packaged shipments of isocyanates and polyols to North American customers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage bulk and package shipments using ERP (SAP) reports and TMS platforms (e.g., Uber Freight).
• Process sales orders, ensuring shipping and delivery dates meet customer expectations.
• Serve as the primary freight coverage contact for Customer Service.
• Liaise between distribution warehouses, TMS providers, and carriers.
• Coordinate outbound shipments with packaging facilities, transloading sites, and warehouses based on production schedules.
• Prepare monthly KPIs using TMS and Power BI dashboards and review carrier performance metrics.
• Support OTIF targets, resolve vendor invoices, and ensure compliance with DOT, trade regulations, Incoterms, and emergency response policies.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve transportation efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in transportation or logistics within a manufacturing environment.
• Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically SAP.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Uber Freight.
• Ability to create and analyze reports in Power BI.
