Studies Engineer – Dynamic Studies & Modeling

About the role

Ulteig is seeking an experienced Studies Engineer to lead dynamic modeling and master plant control design for large‑scale renewable and data‑center projects across the United States. You will work with industry‑standard power system tools to ensure reliable grid integration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and benchmark PSSE, PSLF, TSAT, and PSCAD models for renewable plants and data‑center loads.
• Perform model quality tests, dynamic simulations (voltage/frequency ride‑through, SCR, fault analysis) and parameter tuning.
• Design custom master controls for multi‑resource projects (PV, BESS, data‑centers).
• Collaborate with business development, SCADA engineers, and customers to translate needs into robust control strategies.
• Stay current with grid codes, ISO/RTO requirements, and emerging industry standards.
• Automate model testing and analysis workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power‑system or control‑system analysis.
• Proven ability to manage workload independently and adapt to changing project priorities.
