Senior Software Engineer (Safety‑Critical)

About the role

Joby is developing a piloted eVTOL aircraft and seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development and verification of safety‑critical embedded software. The role involves technical leadership, project coordination and mentorship within a small, agile team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate internal and external software development resources.
• Interact with customer design engineers on avionics applications.
• Lead the development and verification of safety‑critical software.
• Participate in software architecture design and development processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and developing embedded software in C/C++.
• Experience with Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and practices.
• Team‑lead or project‑management experience.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to travel to the United States.
