Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Python expertise to design, build and maintain scalable, cloud‑native backend systems. The role is fully remote and will focus on micro‑service architectures and event‑driven solutions on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate distributed backend services using Python, micro‑services, REST APIs and event‑driven patterns.
• Build and optimise cloud‑native applications on AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, S3, CloudFormation and CDK, ensuring scalability, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Integrate APIs, specialised data stores and observability solutions while implementing secure authentication and fault‑tolerant communication.
• Drive engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.
• Proven ability to design micro‑services, REST APIs and event‑driven architectures.
• Strong experience with AWS services and cloud‑native backend development.
