Senior Associate – Indirect Tax (North America)

About the role

Bayer is seeking a Senior Associate to support its North America indirect tax function. You will work within the Tax Community to ensure accurate tax compliance, timely filing, and effective issue resolution for sales and use tax across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file U.S. indirect tax returns and payments on schedule.
• Review transaction data for compliance with sales and use tax laws.
• Reconcile tax accounts and manage exemption certificates.
• Respond to basic inquiries from tax authorities.
• Conduct tax law research and produce reports for various jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with GBS Taxes, process experts, and internal partners to maintain accurate tax records.
• Support process improvement and change‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or Tax.
• Minimum three years of U.S. indirect tax compliance experience, including at least one to two years in an associate‑level role.
• Ability to work independently and handle high‑pressure situations.
• Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with tax software and data analysis tools.
