Head of Design Engineering

About the role

Camphomes is seeking a visionary Head of Design Engineering to lead and transform its design pipeline. You will own the end‑to‑end process that turns client briefs into permit‑ready packages for our timber‑frame home system.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full design flow from conceptual design to permit sets across 16', 20', and 24' timber frames.
• Translate developer and client briefs into schemes that respect the Camphomes system and brand.
• Develop detailed design documentation and fabrication‑ready shop drawings in close partnership with the Head of Manufacturing.
• Produce jurisdiction‑compliant permit documentation for projects in Nicaragua, Panama, and future markets.
• Manage structural coordination with external engineers and ensure seamless integration with automated workflows.

Required profile

• Proven leader with experience modernising design pipelines in a construction or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of how automation, parametric tools, and AI can accelerate conceptual‑to‑permit processes.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and development teams.
