Engineering Consultant I – Medical Device Design

About the role

This position supports design development activities for medical device projects, focusing on documentation, CAD modeling, and test method creation. The consultant works closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance, traceability, and timely delivery of project deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Support stack analysis and design of plastic parts using SolidWorks.
• Create and manage 3D drawings, assemblies, and dimensions in SolidWorks Vault.
• Develop test protocols, work instructions, and sample preparation procedures.
• Conduct test method validation, generate reports, and provide DV testing support.
• Maintain a project tracker with weekly updates for management review.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to the client during and after project completion.
• Perform additional tasks as agreed with project liaisons.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) and native Spanish speaker.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or ProE/Inventor) for CAD modeling.
• Minitab for statistical analysis.
• MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
• Experience with electronic document management systems.
