Architect – On-site in Guanacaste, Costa Rica

About the role

32 South Architecture is seeking a full‑time architect to work on‑site in Guanacaste. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, bridging design concepts with construction realities in tropical coastal projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural projects from concept through technical documentation.
• Produce complete construction drawings (planos constructivos).
• Create 3D models and graphic presentations for clients and the internal team.
• Coordinate basic details with structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
• Participate in site visits and construction inspections.
• Support construction administration and project follow‑up.
• Assist in material selection and development of construction details.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year of active site involvement.
• Fluent Spanish and functional English.
• Available for full‑time, on‑site work in Guanacaste (non‑negotiable).
• Experience resolving construction details on site and knowledge of Costa Rican regulations (CFIA, municipal permits).
• Ability to manage projects of varying scales simultaneously.
• Proactive, organized and technically confident.

Required skills

• AutoCAD.
• SketchUp.
• Revit (working knowledge).
• Adobe Illustrator.
• Adobe Photoshop.
