Web Design Systems Designer (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency builds websites and marketing programs for clients across the US. As Web Design Systems Designer, you own how client design systems are built: taking a brand and a few reference sites and turning them into a working system of tokens, variables, modes and core components that a build pipeline can run without asking questions. This is a senior, systems-first, full-time remote position.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes and semantic naming that the pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so a developer or an automated pipeline can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands at once, each looking distinctly different but with the same structural rigor.

Required profile

• 4+ years designing for the web, with real design system work in your portfolio.
• Strong English and overlap with US business hours.

Required skills

• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto layout and variants; actual architecture, not just tidy files.
• A portfolio where the work looks different from client to client but shares the same underlying rigor.
