UX Design Intern - Digital Orthodontics

About the role

Align Technology is looking for a UX Design Intern to join its Platform Experiences (PEX) team in Belen, Costa Rica. The internship offers hands-on experience designing intuitive, elegant and scalable digital solutions that connect the Invisalign, iTero and exocad ecosystems. You will work alongside experienced designers, product managers and engineers to help shape the future of digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design or a related field.
• Academic or project experience showing understanding of user-centered design principles; prior internship design experience is a plus.
• Ability to work onsite in the Costa Rica office and collaborate across time zones.
• Professional English, able to take part in meetings, document design decisions and present work in design reviews.
• Open to feedback and mentorship, collaborative and proactive.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in Figma or other design tools.
• Strong visual design sense and attention to detail.
• Interest in design systems, accessibility and research methods.
• Complementary: familiarity with 3D, motion or prototyping tools, interest in healthcare, medtech or data-driven platforms, curiosity about AI-assisted design.
