About the role

The Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment. The role requires deep knowledge of the equipment’s operating principles and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the execution of preventive maintenance plans for all equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment failures promptly.
• Operate and adjust machines to ensure product quality according to specifications.
• Apply lubrication principles and understand their impact on equipment performance.
• Perform mechanical adjustments such as alignments, bearing replacements, tolerance checks, and vacuum pump impeller work.
• Identify alternative solutions when spare parts are unavailable to avoid major downtime.
• Interpret P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Comply with EHS and quality standards and implement best manufacturing practices.
• Support equipment start‑up after maintenance or when operators need assistance.
• Propose at least one annual improvement project to reduce recurring failures.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma (Bachillerato) and a technical degree in electronics, electromechanics, mechanics or industrial automation.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in technical roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work any shift (day, mixed, night).
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of materials, machines, tools, production processes and machine adjustments.
• Experience maintaining and configuring automated industrial machines.
