About the role

Join Lonza’s Global Supply Chain Quality team in San Jose, Costa Rica, and play a pivotal role in ensuring supplier quality excellence across worldwide operations. You will drive compliance, improve supplier performance, and help maintain an uninterrupted supply of high‑quality materials that impact patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end supplier quality processes such as Vendor Change Notifications, Supplier Quality Agreements, and supplier complaints.
• Evaluate supplier changes using risk‑based, analytical decision‑making to protect product quality and supply continuity.
• Review and approve supply‑chain records governing materials, services, and equipment across the Lonza network.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QC, Procurement, MSAT, and Planning teams to assess impact and manage risks.
• Maintain accurate supplier documentation in line with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and report KPIs related to supplier quality, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement.
• Act as a global point of contact for supplier quality topics, supporting audits and inspections.

Required profile

• Experience in the pharmaceutical or life‑sciences industry within Supplier Quality.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven analytical, problem‑solving and risk‑assessment capabilities.
• Ability to manage complex workflows in cross‑functional environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Biotechnology) or equivalent.
• Business fluency in English.
