About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineering II professional who thrives in technical leadership and system‑level thinking. You will help build scalable, enterprise‑grade platforms that power customer care and GenAI‑driven innovation for Walmart in Costa Rica.
Key responsibilities
- Drive architecture, design, and development of highly available, enterprise‑scale systems.
- Lead implementation of complex solutions while staying hands‑on with prototyping and coding.
- Make architectural trade‑offs balancing long‑term scalability with short‑term delivery.
- Ensure operational excellence through CI/CD and reliability practices.
- Apply GenAI and distributed‑systems expertise to create customer‑facing solutions.
- Collaborate with product, business, and UX partners to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across teams.
Required profile
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Java, React, distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to design and deliver enterprise‑scale solutions, including GenAI systems.
- Passion for engineering excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
- Fluent English; experience with accessible digital experiences (WCAG 2.2 AA) is a plus.
