Software Engineer

About the role

Moody's is looking for a Software Engineer to design, build, and support backend services and AI‑powered features for its Digital Content and Innovation team. You will work on cloud‑native applications, large language model integrations, and data pipelines that enable intelligent risk assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and deploy backend services, APIs, and inference pipelines with guidance from senior engineers.
• Develop AI‑driven features using retrieval‑augmented generation, prompt orchestration, and tool integration.
• Maintain automated tests, monitoring dashboards, alerts, and participate in on‑call rotation.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to translate requirements into reliable software.

Required profile

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building backend or cloud‑native applications.
• Proven ability to break down problems, estimate work, and deliver reliably.
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams and responding constructively to code reviews.

Required skills

• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or C# and building APIs/microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with large language models, retrieval‑augmented generation, and prompt engineering.
• Working knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and familiarity with vector databases and observability tools.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, secure coding, automated testing, and monitoring.
