Software Engineer

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain scalable applications and automation solutions that integrate Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities, enhancing business and developer productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable applications and automation solutions with LLM capabilities.
• Build and maintain LLM‑enabled applications across user interfaces, backend services, and APIs.
• Create automation scripts and workflow tooling using Python.
• Implement backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot, integrating internal platforms and external LLM providers.
• Design modern web interfaces using Angular and TypeScript.
• Apply LLM engineering patterns such as prompt design, prompt management, tool/function calling, and retrieval‑augmented generation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience delivering and maintaining production software across front‑end, back‑end, and APIs.
• Strong proficiency in Java and building RESTful services with Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with Angular and TypeScript for modern web applications.
• Experience writing Python scripts for automation or workflow tooling.
• Practical experience integrating Large Language Model APIs in a provider‑agnostic manner.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, debugging, code quality, and documentation.
