Software Engineer – Front End (React/JavaScript) – Level III

About the role

We are looking for a senior Software Engineer (Level III) who will focus on front‑end development using React and modern JavaScript technologies. The role supports supply‑chain and warehouse‑management services and is fully remote for candidates located in Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support end‑to‑end front‑end features, with occasional backend work in Java.
• Build reusable UI components for checkout, wishlist and other Nordstrom website experiences.
• Translate requirements, designs and wireframes into production‑ready code.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and partner squads to deliver high‑quality software.

Required profile

• 5 + years of professional front‑end engineering experience building production web applications.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• React, Redux, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript.
• RESTful API integration with Java, Golang and Python.
• Test automation using Playwright (unit, integration and end‑to‑end).
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and observability tools such as New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch.
• Front‑end architecture, component design, performance and accessibility best practices.
