Software Engineer – Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Integration)

About the role

Modus is seeking a Software Engineer to act as a Forward Deployed Engineer, helping customers integrate and adopt AI‑powered products. You will work directly with clients across the United States and LATAM, translating technical requirements into rapid prototypes and production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to understand their technical environments and identify optimal AI product use cases.
• Design, build, and deliver full‑stack integrations, prototypes, and proofs of concept.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Research unfamiliar systems and APIs to create seamless integrations.

Required profile

• Strong full‑stack engineering experience with modern applications and services.
• Hands‑on experience integrating AI capabilities into existing systems.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
• Excellent communication skills for customer-facing interactions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and familiarity with GraphQL concepts.
• Experience with agentic architectures, AI agents, and tool‑calling patterns.
• Ability to rapidly prototype solutions and turn ideas into working implementations.
