Software Engineer – AI/HPC Middleware

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to develop and optimise AI/HPC communication middleware for Cornelis Networks. You will work under senior guidance, contributing to MPI/SHMEM and AI collective communication libraries (e.g., NCCL/RCCL) across our high‑performance interconnects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and optimise features for HPC middleware (MPI, SHMEM) and AI middleware (CCL stacks such as NCCL/RCCL).
• Integrate middleware capabilities with underlying transports and provider layers (libfabric/OFI, UCX, verbs‑like semantics).
• Prepare and submit upstream contributions to MPI/SHMEM projects and CCL ecosystems.
• Collaborate with kernel/driver and switch teams to deliver end‑to‑end performance aligned with the product roadmap.
• Analyse performance traces, reproduce customer issues and translate findings into fixes.

Required profile

• 2+ years of systems programming experience in C/C++ on Linux.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong interest in AI, HPC and networking technologies.
