Senior Web UX Designer (Remote - Costa Rica)

About the role

Smartsheet is looking for a Senior Web UX Designer to create engaging, intuitive experiences for its website. The role is design‑focused, translating ideas into buildable components for a globally distributed engineering team, and is eligible for remote work within Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Design user journeys, wireframes, and high‑fidelity prototypes, extending the existing web design system.
• Prepare clear specifications, redlines, and handoff documentation for asynchronous engineering teams.
• Work directly in Jira alongside developers, tracking tickets from concept to launch.
• Review live branches and staging builds against design specs, flagging visual or functional mismatches.
• Conduct user research in collaboration with the research lead and build conversion‑focused pages in the CMS.
• Leverage AI‑assisted and design‑to‑code tools to speed up handoff and reduce manual work.

Required profile

• 5+ years designing web or product experiences, preferably in a component‑based or CMS environment.
• Experience preparing detailed specs and redlines for engineering handoff in an asynchronous team.
• Comfortable working in Jira or similar ticketing systems and following tickets through to completion.
• Strong visual design eye, solid understanding of hierarchy, typography, color, and layout.
• Excellent communication, collaborative mindset, and openness to feedback.
