Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Philips is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in Alajuela. The role aims to achieve high-quality performance with supplier partners and pursue continuous quality improvement by applying Quality Engineering practices to Philips products, parts and services procured from suppliers across the product lifecycle, including sustaining change management. It is an office-based position.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze supplier-related defects, determine root causes, initiate supplier notifications and drive corrective actions using quality tools and problem-solving techniques.
• Support end-to-end supplier performance management, including quality investigations, improvement initiatives and development activities.
• Provide quality support to Quality Receiving Inspection (QRI) and manufacturing operations so components consistently meet quality standards.
• Execute Part Submission Warrant (PSW) activities, line releases, supplier change evaluations and internal change assessments to ensure compliance with form, fit, function and quality requirements.
• Ensure Critical to Quality (CtQ) requirements are communicated and maintained, assess new suppliers' technical capabilities and lead supplier improvement efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience, preferably in the medical device or another regulated industry, with broad experience in engineering functions.
• Experience working directly with suppliers.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Solid expertise in Quality Engineering and Continuous Improvement techniques.
• Desirable: ISO 13485 Lead Auditor, CQE and CQA certifications.
