Senior Project Manager - Professional Services

About the role

Rocket Software is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, customer-facing professional services engagements across its solutions portfolio. Projects vary in size, delivery model, technical scope and geographic reach. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver agreed outcomes while managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full project lifecycle of complex, high-risk or multi-region engagements, including timelines, deliverables, dependencies, resources and quality standards.
• Define and document scope, objectives, success criteria, assumptions, constraints and responsibilities, and manage changes to prevent uncontrolled scope expansion.
• Apply Rocket's project management framework and tailor delivery practices to each engagement.
• Plan and run initiation, kickoff, requirements, planning, status, steering and closure activities; act as the main interface for customers.
• Identify, assess and manage risks, issues, decisions and dependencies, and escalate promptly when needed.
• Maintain project records and give stakeholders timely visibility into progress, financial health, risks and next steps.
• Manage project resources, schedules and financial parameters against contractual commitments, and keep accurate forecasts for revenue, resource demand, completion and remaining effort.
• Monitor budget, burn, margin, milestones and revenue recognition inputs, and communicate scope, timeline and cost impacts to customers and stakeholders.
• Partner with Sales and Solutioning on follow-on needs, and manage a balanced portfolio of engagements.
• Improve policies, templates and best practices, track KPIs and data, and set governance and reporting cadences.
• Work with Account Executives, Solutioning, Engineering, Product Development, Support and Customer Success, and build relationships across functions and regions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of progressive project or program management experience, preferably in professional services, software, SaaS, technology or consulting.
• Experience leading complex engagements with cross-functional teams and managing project financials, forecasts, budgets, contracts, change control and revenue-related inputs.
• Experience mentoring project managers or guiding project teams is preferred.
• Preferred: PMP, PgMP or PRINCE2 certification; change management, cloud or IT service management certifications are helpful but not required.
