Senior FreeCAD Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote engineering team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models using FreeCAD, ensuring they meet project specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise mechanical assemblies in FreeCAD, applying best practices for component integration.
• Apply GD&T and DFM principles to guarantee manufacturability and high‑quality output.
• Produce clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Utilise Python scripting to automate repetitive modelling tasks (preferred but not mandatory).
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, providing feedback on model accuracy and design intent.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field focused on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency with FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T, and DFM.
• Proven ability to generate comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience performing QA reviews of CAD models and ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills suitable for remote, project‑based work.
