Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure & Kubernetes)

About the role

Excel Nearshore is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, scale, and maintain the cloud infrastructure that powers a next‑generation AI platform. This fully remote, full‑time position focuses on Azure, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes to ensure high‑throughput microservices run securely and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve production‑grade Azure infrastructure, covering networking, compute, storage, and security.
• Design and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, with reusable modules and strict environment promotion.
• Lead container orchestration and scaling with Docker and Kubernetes, managing cluster hygiene, deployments, and rollouts.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, integrating test gates, secure artifact handling, and automated secrets management.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability through observability, alerting, SLOs, and proactive incident response.
• Architect high‑availability data and messaging layers, optimizing PostgreSQL and asynchronous workloads with RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
• Advanced expertise in Azure production environments.
• Deep Terraform proficiency, including remote state, module design, drift detection, and zero‑downtime changes.
• Hands‑on mastery of Docker and Kubernetes day‑2 operations, ingress routing (NGinx/HAProxy), and HTTPS/TLS best practices.
• Strong ownership mindset for scalable, flexible, and secure infrastructure design.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
