Senior Design Technology Specialist – BIM & VDC Lead

About the role

As a Senior Design Technology Specialist on Gensler’s LAC Design Technology team, you will bridge design ambition and technical execution across Latin America and the Caribbean. Reporting to the Regional Design Technology Director and the Studio Director, you will lead BIM and VDC workflows for flagship regional projects and help shape the long‑term digital design strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination (architecture, structure, MEP, civil) using clash detection tools such as Forma Model Coordination, Navisworks or Revizto.
• Own end‑to‑end VDC processes: model federation, 4D scheduling, constructability reviews and direct coordination with contractors and sub‑consultants.
• Develop, implement and enforce BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) aligned with ISO 19650, manage the Master Information Delivery Plan and govern the Common Data Environment.
• Integrate design‑technology tools (Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, Dynamo, reality capture, AI‑assisted workflows) and maintain interoperability pipelines.
• Conduct model health audits, generate analytics and define digital content strategies, including Revit family management and template governance.
• Mentor regional BIM leads and support the growth of design‑technology talent within Gensler’s LATAM studios.

Required profile

• Bilingual in Spanish and English with strong communication skills across multicultural teams.
• Extensive experience in design‑build delivery environments within LATAM.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑country projects and coordinate with local constructors and sub‑consultants.
