Senior AI Data Specialist

About the role

Walmart Global Tech is looking for a Senior AI Data Specialist to lead the design, development, and scaling of advanced Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions across Central America. The role offers high autonomy and ownership of end‑to‑end AI systems, influencing technical direction and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or similar.
• Architect multi‑agent systems for complex, multi‑step business processes.
• Define data ingestion, chunking, embedding, and retrieval optimization strategies.
• Build scalable AI‑powered automation pipelines integrated with enterprise APIs.
• Lead development and optimization of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Create LLM‑powered applications, AI assistants, and copilots for internal use cases.
• Develop reusable prompt strategies and evaluation frameworks to improve reliability.
• Identify and mitigate hallucinations, inconsistencies, and AI reliability risks.
• Mentor mid‑level team members and promote technical best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, data engineering, or applied AI solutions.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience with Generative AI or LLM‑based applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
