Senior Accountant – Global Accounting Close Center of Excellence

About the role

The Global Accounting Close Center of Excellence (CoE) at Pfizer seeks a Senior Accountant to lead the execution of close‑related tasks for legal entities worldwide. The role ensures accurate, on‑time trial balance submissions into FCCS and collaborates with multiple finance and business partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit trial balances for global legal entities into FCCS within established deadlines.
• Track, monitor, and resolve close‑related tasks, performing error clearing and root‑cause analysis.
• Support foreign exchange revaluation, topside journal entries, and sales data submissions.
• Maintain documentation, work instructions, and SOX control evidence for internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with business partners across Finance, Treasury, Tax, HR, and other functions to ensure seamless close processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred).
• 3‑5+ years of technical accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with US GAAP and other statutory accounting frameworks.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP and FCCS.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken).
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal control documentation.
