Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Middle & High School)

About the role

Country Day School, part of the Nord Anglia Education family, is seeking a dedicated Secondary Mathematics Teacher to deliver engaging math instruction to middle and high school students in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver clear, engaging lessons in subjects such as Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Advanced Placement Mathematics.
• Assess student progress using varied assessment tools and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teams and house colleagues to design coherent learning experiences.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages interaction and supports student well‑being.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with a valid teaching certificate/license in secondary mathematics.
• At least two years of teaching experience in middle or high school (preferred).
• Excellent command of English; native speaker preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the U.S. K‑12 curriculum and Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
