Secondary English Teacher – International School

About the role

The Secondary English Teacher will deliver engaging, high‑quality English Language Arts instruction to students from early secondary through senior year, including Advanced Placement courses where applicable. The role supports the school’s mission of fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and inclusive learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards‑driven ELA lessons aligned with U.S. curriculum, Common Core and AP/Pre‑AP frameworks.
• Design, implement and grade a variety of assessments, using data to inform instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Integrate technology to enhance classroom learning.
• Monitor and document student progress; communicate regularly with families.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and school community events.
• Engage in continuous professional development and collaborative team work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with a valid teaching certificate/license in the relevant content area.
• Minimum two years of secondary‑school teaching experience (preferred).
• Experience with Advanced Placement instruction is an asset.
• Native‑level English proficiency; strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with K‑12 U.S. curriculum, Common Core State Standards and NGELA standards.
• Ability to provide background checks as required.
• Available to start on 1 August 2026.
