Reliability Engineer – Manufacturing Quality

About the role

Medtronic seeks a Reliability Engineer to develop and maintain quality systems for manufacturing processes in machining, metal finishing and assembly. The role focuses on improving part quality, schedule performance and reducing costs through standard work and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and conduct technical reliability studies, design of experiments (DOE) and risk analyses for new designs and processes.
• Review engineering drawings, initiate changes in gauging and inspection procedures, and document changes in the Manufacturing Engineering control system.
• Perform PFMEA, statistical process control, and compile performance reports to identify variables affecting product quality.
• Design gauges and fixtures, conduct gauge design reviews, and recommend improved gauging methods for in‑process and final inspection.
• Lead technical quality reviews of suppliers, mentor engineers, and train employees and suppliers on quality tools and techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (or higher) with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 5 years, or PhD with 3 years.
• Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel as required.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis software (Minitab or equivalent).
• PFMEA and risk analysis methodologies.
• Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical process control.
• Gauge and fixture design, GD&T.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
• ASQ‑CQE certification (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
