Regional Accounting Support – Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Latin America

About the role

Expeditors is seeking a Regional Accounting Support professional to strengthen its finance function across Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the broader Latin America region. The role ensures that financial information submitted to corporate headquarters is accurate, complete, and compliant with US GAAP and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly review of country P&L submission packages and approve month‑end close activities.
• Validate global accounting entries submitted by corporate headquarters for timely and accurate posting.
• Review third‑party outlays and intercompany entries to ensure compliance with global policies.
• Support annual internal control evaluations for countries in scope.
• Assist Country Controllers and accounting staff in applying company policies, standards, and accounting guidance.
• Collaborate on global accounting requests and information requirements.
• Identify and propose improvements to accounting processes to boost productivity and efficiency.
• Provide financial and accounting expertise to regional business operations teams.

Required profile

• Strong background in accounting or finance with experience in regional or multi‑country environments.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and local accounting requirements for Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Latin America.
• Ability to work closely with Country Controllers and regional finance teams.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and internal controls.
