Python Developer – AI Expert (Remote, Part‑time Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Python developer with a strong focus on AI‑enhanced backend services. This remote, part‑time contract position will have you building and refining robust APIs while collaborating closely with a research team testing cutting‑edge AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise REST and GraphQL endpoints for scalable APIs.
• Implement data validation, error handling and security best practices.
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning and schema changes.
• Test AI‑powered models in the Cursor environment and provide detailed incident reports, bug traces and screenshots.
• Participate in intensive 4‑day testing bursts and submit post‑burst surveys.
• Engage with the research team via Slack to discuss findings and propose improvements.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily in Python.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, confidential remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear incident and bug reporting.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for AI advancements in software development.
