Project Manager – Medical Device Operations

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Project Manager to lead operational projects within its Shockwave Medical unit in Costa Rica. The role provides cross‑functional program leadership to ensure projects meet strategic goals, timelines, and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end product transfer projects, from detailed planning through validation and regulatory submittals.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, align resources, and drive accountability to achieve milestones on time and within budget.
• Develop and publish dashboards and reports that communicate portfolio progress, risks, and achievements.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, and deliver formal presentations as needed.
• Own hands‑on tracking of team progress and provide detailed status updates.
• Identify and implement best‑practice processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Project Management education preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Minimum 5 years managing large transfer projects, with at least 3 years in the medical‑device industry.
• Experience with Quality System Regulations (QSR) such as 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and MDR.
• Proven ability to lead complex programs, manage risk, and drive process‑improvement initiatives.
