Production Supervisor II (Shift A) – Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Supervisor II (Shift A) will lead the manufacturing lines at Heraeus Medevio in Cartago, ensuring products are produced according to specifications, cost targets and quality standards. The role requires close coordination with technical teams, continuous monitoring of KPIs and proactive problem‑solving to maintain uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Organise employees, materials, equipment and other resources to meet daily, weekly and monthly production plans and KPIs while respecting budget constraints.
• Monitor production KPIs, implement preventive actions, and communicate with technical teams to avoid line downtime.
• Provide training on quality, EHS, GMP and documentation practices and ensure certifications are up‑to‑date.
• Supervise line activities, intervene on quality, safety, ergonomic or scrap issues, and manage CAPA and NCR actions.
• Close production orders, control variances, and ensure accurate data on materials, labor and machine usage.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects to achieve operational excellence.
• Coordinate with customer service, warehouse, logistics and planning to meet customer agreements.
• Manage the area budget, approve overtime and ensure correct payroll processing.

Required profile

• Engineering Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree desirable).
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 13485 standards.
• Familiarity with CFR 21 regulations.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
