Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a mid-level Procurement Specialist to own the end-to-end purchase requisition and order process, from intake through approval and issuance. The role is an individual contributor position that requires strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to keep multiple stakeholders aligned.

Key responsibilities

• Review incoming procurement requests for completeness, including business need, vendor details, quotes, cost centre, budget owner and required approvals.
• Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP Ariba (or comparable system), validate quotes, follow up on budget approvals and support PO issuance.
• Process internal equipment orders, validate pricing, maintain records in Microsoft SharePoint and ensure timely order numbers.
• Maintain audit-ready procurement records, track approvals, and flag risks or policy exceptions.
• Develop and update Excel trackers and dashboards reporting request status, approval aging, blocked items and completion dates.
• Prepare concise stakeholder updates highlighting risks, delays and required actions.
• Serve as the primary contact for procurement-related queries from internal teams, approvers, budget owners and vendors.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest process improvements to reduce manual effort.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience in procurement, purchasing or supply-chain operations.
• Proven ability to create purchase requisitions and manage approval workflows in SAP Ariba or a similar procurement platform.
• Experience using Microsoft SharePoint (or equivalent) for order tracking.
• Advanced Excel skills for tracking and reporting.
• Professional written and verbal communication.
