Procurement and Logistics Officer

About the role

The Procurement and Logistics Officer will support People in Need’s regional office in San José, ensuring smooth internal procurement processes, effective office logistics, and compliance with donor requirements. This hybrid position combines office work with remote tasks, contributing to the organization’s mission of defending human rights and strengthening civil society.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate operational and administrative needs across departments.
• Manage office supplies, equipment purchases, and service provider contracts.
• Oversee office maintenance, utilities, and event arrangements.
• Maintain accurate asset and inventory records.
• Prepare and implement procurement plans.
• Handle procurement procedures, documentation, and supplier selection.
• Provide guidance on procurement guidelines and donor requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, procurement, supply chain, or office administration.
• Fluent Spanish and English (B2 level or higher).
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Self‑starter with the capacity to work independently.
• Legal authorization to work in Costa Rica.
