Plant Engineer

About the role

Bayer is seeking a Plant Engineer to join its pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Alajuela, Costa Rica. You will support production, drive process improvements, and ensure technical compliance in a clean‑room environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead deviations and CAPA investigations independently, including root‑cause analysis and effectiveness verification.
• Provide advanced engineering support to production and coordinate cross‑functional change execution.
• Implement process optimization initiatives and support reliability and maintenance strategies.
• Own validation planning, execution, reporting and assess impact of process changes.
• Lead medium‑complexity projects and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Act as the technical reference for the assigned area.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• 2–4 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in the medical, medical‑device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Proven ability to work in clean‑room environments and adhere to strict regulatory requirements.
• Strong ownership, discipline and collaborative communication skills.
